MPN MEMBERS

The current partner institutions of MPN include:

Helmholtz Munich
The Helmholtz Munich Postdoc Association was founded in October 2018 at the Helmholtz Munich with the aim of improving the conditions for postdocs at the centre.
Our main objectives are
  • To achieve a higher visibility of postdocs at Helmholtz Munich
  • To improve interaction among postdocs through events
  • To foster contact with external postdoc associations
We represent the interests of the postdocs to management and committees at the HMGU and serve as a central point of contact for any questions, comments, and suggestions. The HMGU Postdoc Association also organises scientific, career and networking events for postdocs and provides information and assistance to new (and established) postdoc researchers at the centre.
We are always happy to get in touch and to welcome new members to the HMGU Postdoc Association! Stay up to date on our website! more
Bavarian Research Institute for Digital Transformation (bidt)
Our Postdoc Group is part of the bidt Graduate Center, founded in 2022. With this funding line, the Bavarian State Ministry of Science and the Arts aims to support postdocs at universities in the Free State of Bavaria and qualify them to remain in academia and prepare them to take on a tenure-track position, a junior research group leader or a comparable position. The aim is to promote the careers of excellent young researchers, primarily from the first or second year after their doctorate, who have a technically, economically or socially relevant focus that is significant for digitisation.
The Graduate Centre for Postdocs is coordinated by bidt.

The bidt is an Institute of the Bavarian Academy of Science (BAdW). The Bavarian Research Institute for Digital Transformation (bidt) contributes to a better understanding of the developments and challenges of the digital transformation. In doing so, it provides the foundations for shaping the digital future of society in a responsible and public-spirited manner. more
Hochschule München University of Applied Sciences
With an ever-increasing importance of research, Hochschule München University of Applied Sciences (HM), recently founded a Graduate School to support young scientists. At our university, applied research and development are conducted in close cooperation with partners from industry, with the aim of further developing our practice-based degree courses and being an innovation driver for the region. Thus, we establish close ties between research, teaching and industry. Even though the numbers of doctoral and postdoctoral researches at universities of applied sciences are still relatively small, this field is growing rapidly. This results in the demand to facilitate high quality training opportunities and networking possibilities for our postdocs. We are therefore happy to announce that we are now part of the Munich Postdoc Network!

During our monthly meetings, topics are discussed such as support options for the acquisition of third-party funding, the path to scientific independence, the habilitation process, innovations and structures in the faculty and the organization of teaching. The participation of employees who are at different qualification levels enables active peer-to-peer mentoring within the group. more
